Use
Sofosbuvir and velpatasvir are used together for chronic hepatitis C. The regimen depends in part on liver status and previous treatment.
Adverse effects
Headache, fatigue and nausea were reported in trials. Adding ribavirin also adds its adverse-effect profile.
Interactions and restrictions
Relevant interactions include amiodarone, certain anticonvulsants, rifampicin, St John’s wort and acid-reducing medicines. Hepatitis B status is assessed before treatment.
